 Subject Choice for Leaving Cert

Subject Choice PowerPoint Presentations are available for each Leaving Cert subject and are fully updated in line with the new senior cycle curriculum specifications including Tranche 2 subjects.

If your school is using the REACH Programme, these PowerPoints can be accessed from your guidance website in the Useful Tools box on the right of the page:

These PowerPoints can be used by guidance counsellors and subject teachers to present an overview to both students and parents on choosing subjects for Leaving Cert.

REACH+ has a Subject Choice App to help students research, explore and rank their subject choices - this also includes all subject choice PowerPoints.  There is a comprehensive Lesson Plan and PowerPoints for this app in the 'Lesson Resources' area of your REACH Admin.

Watch our video below that talks you through adding your schools Leaving Cert subject options to this app in REACH:

You can explore the comprehensive Subject Choice area on CareersPortal here.

Sending REACH Reports for 6th Years

REACH Reports are available to send to parents / guardians of all REACH students and are particularly useful for 6th years ahead of Mock exams and CAO deadline. These personalised reports will give an overview of the students self assessment results and the research they have done regarding their next steps after the Leaving Cert:

  • Login to your REACH Administration area > Click on View Students > Click on the Class Name  > Click on the last icon 'Print Career Report' for each student and you can choose to save as PDF and email to parents or print it off.
  • You can also print all student reports together from your 'View Students' area - Click on 'View Class Reports' and click on '4 Page Report'.
This will generate reports for all students in that class and will include their Interest Profiler Assessment results and the courses and careers they have tagged as 'Favourites'.
